What is 3M Scotchgard protective film?
A high-grade, colourless urethane film applied to high-impact areas of your vehicle that take the brunt of damaging road debris. Excellent for leading edge of bonnets, front bumpers, spoilers, door edges, mirror backs, etc. Apply to fully cured painted surfaces. is virtually invisible. Beware of cheaper films. Will it damage my car?
No. 3M film will not damage your car's paint work. OEMs are using this technology prior to delivering to customers.

Where did the film come from?
It was developed for the military to use on the leading edge of helicopter blades in extremely harsh desert conditions. It has been thoroughly tested.

How long does installation take?
Average vehicle will take 2.5 hours.

Which Car Manufacturers use protective film?
Porsche, Mercedes, Volvo, Audi, VW, Renault, Aston Martin amongst the many.

Will my car be ok in the car wash and jet wash?
Yes. You do not need to take any special precautions, except to leave for 24 hour's after installation.

Is there a guarantee?
Yes - 5 years against yellowing, cracking and blistering.

Who develops the kits?
All our kits are developed in the UK by Premier Paint Guard, for UK specification Vehicles.

Who will fit the kit?
Our trained staff will develop and fit the kits. Mail order kits are available with all fitting instructions soon.

Can I remove the film?
Yes, without any damage to your paint work.

Can I use it on my motorbike?
Yes. It can also be used on bikes, motor homes, caravans, coaches, motorboats, and yachts.

Can I install the film myself?
Yes you can ! Whilst generally we recommend that an experienced certified Installer fits the film to difficult areas like bumpers. This is due to complex profiles and requires limited stretching of the film for a perfect fit. Other areas can be installed by a competent DIY'er.  Why not try a door edge protection kit to start with, kits even include a small test piece to practice with.

Does the film stick to plastic?
Yes.

If the film is removed from the vehicle can it be reused?
No it cannot be reused.

Can the film be applied to vehicles that have been touched up?
It is recommended that any paint repairs are done by a professional and fully cured before applying the film. Due to the strong bond it is recommended that the protection film should not be applied to re sprayed paint work with the intention of removing it later.
If you are installing on recently re sprayed bodywork. Please allow at least 2 weeks before installation. seek advice from your paint shop.

Premier Paint Guard cannot be held liable for damage caused by removal of the protection film on inferior paint work.

Does 3M Scotchgard resist yellowing?
Yes it does. The film is constructed of thermoplastic urethane, which is covered by a UV stable clear coat. It is guaranteed not to go yellow.
